Know What You are Looking for in a Wheelchair Accessible Van…

There are two types of conversion models; side entry and rear entry.  The side entry conversions are usually the more popular ones, they are suitable for those in wheelchairs who wish to drive on their own.  Whereas the rear entry vans are meant more for those who don’t want to drive or that are not able to drive.  A question you need to ask yourself is which one would suit your needs better?
There are many features that wheelchair accessible vans offer to the people who use them.  They usually have a capacity for one or two wheelchairs and also can be converted to accommodate mobile scooters as well.  Wheelchair vans offer the independence you crave and have many other features available, such as tie downs for the wheelchairs, seat belts, hand controls, power steering, outside entry controls and in some even a 6 way power seat in the driver position is available. Which features do you need? Which features would you like to have? These are all things that you can talk to your certified mobility consultant about.
Your local dealer should have both new and used vans available for purchase or to rent.  All vans can be personalized with different accessories to suit each individual.  Contact IMED Mobility to answer all of your mobility questions.
